Environmental Health & Safety Institute (EHSI)
|The mission of the Environmental Health and Safety Institute is to assist the NC community colleges in their pursuit of safe and healthy workplaces. EHSI currently provides safety training, inspections and air quality testing.
EHSI is excited to announce a series of upcoming training events specifically for Workers' Compensation Administrators. These classes, conducted by staff from the NC Office of State Human Resources, will guide you through the process of claims management from beginning to end. While we all work hard to maintain safe working and learning environments throughout the state, unfortunately there are accidents. One of the most important things we can do, not only to reduce costs, but also to ensure injured workers receive the care and attention they need, is to process claims effectively and efficiently. We hope that any and all who are involved with workers' compensation at your college will be able to attend one of these events early next year. Governor McCrory has set a goal of reducing workers' comp costs by 10% within state agencies and we feel that effective claims management is an important objective in achieving that goal. Classes will be held next January and February at nine Community Colleges across the state.
Please see our Safety Measures Newsletter for more information about these classes.
Please use the EE code WC2015 when registering.
